What Is Field Mapping?
Field mapping determines which data gets populated into which field on a form. Quik! manages the field mapping for all forms in the public library, including custodian forms shared across our customer base. Because these forms are used by many organizations, changes are evaluated carefully before they're made.
Types of Requests We Can Help With
Request Type | Description | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
Mapping error | A field is clearly mapped to the wrong data — for example, the wrong name or value is consistently appearing in a field | We will fix it |
Field label preference | The field is mapped correctly, but you prefer a different label or field name than the one Quik! has chosen | We recommend placing a private copy in your own library (see below) |
Data not appearing | The field name is correct, but your data isn't showing up on the form | This is likely a data or product issue — your Customer Success contact can help |
Why We May Not Make the Change
Public library forms are shared across all Quik! customers. When we change the mapping on a public form, it affects everyone using that form. For this reason, we weigh each request against how widely the form is used and whether others have raised the same concern.
If you're the only customer requesting a particular change and the form is heavily used, we'll likely recommend a private copy in your library instead of modifying the public form.
The Private Library Option
If your request is a preference rather than a clear error, the best path forward is to place a private copy of the form in your own library. This gives you full control over that form's mapping without impacting other customers.
Your Customer Success representative can help you get this set up or you can email forms@quikforms.com.
What to Include in Your Request
To help us review your request as quickly as possible, please include the following when you submit a ticket:
The form ID of the affected form
The field name or field location on the form
What is currently appearing in the field
What you expect or need to appear instead
The product or integration you are using to populate the form
The more detail you provide upfront, the faster we can evaluate whether a change is appropriate and get back to you with next steps.
What Happens After You Submit
Our team will review your request and consider the following before responding:
Whether the issue is a mapping error or a preference
How widely the form is used across our customer base
Whether similar requests have been submitted by other customers
Whether a change could negatively affect others who rely on the current mapping
We'll respond with one of the following outcomes: a confirmed fix, a recommendation to use a private copy, or a redirect to Customer Success if the issue is data-related.
Still Not Sure?
If you're unsure whether your issue is a mapping problem or something else, reach out to your Customer Success representative. They can help you diagnose the issue and route your request to the right team.
